Unexpectedly, the rug unrolled in one fluid motion, and a beautiful Bengal tiger sprang out. It was huge with white fur that was chocolate striped. 

“Oh look,” my witch said faintly, “a tiger in a flying carpet. Just what this lounge was missing.”

I couldn’t help the gleeful grin because the tiger was a demon familiar and my cat cousin. Plus, his fur looked soft enough to nap on.

Except, I remembered learning about tigers on that scary documentary. My tail lashed, as I stood bravely in front of my witch. 

“I know all about how you like to mate, tiger. You won’t be biting my witch’s arse,” I hissed. 

The tiger laughed. 

Okay, now my demon ego was hurt.

The tiger’s gaze darted between my witch and me, before he raised his large head, and his ice-blue eyes studied me. “I do not bite without being asked.” His voice was musical and Italian. “And I do not attack kittens in hats.”

In a white spray of glitter, the tiger familiar transformed into a handsome man in a designer suit with a chocolate silk shirt, a sweep of black hair, and twinkly blue eyes…
